Hi,

The most recent change was announced yesterday:
https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/docs/DOC-10859

As of 1/17/2011 L2 problems become part of the TS section. IOU is now able
to emulate Catalyst switches. OEQ has been out for months.
Unfortunately the website mentioned above is not reachable at the moment.
Most likely it is being accessed by many candidates :-)

Regards,
Stefan

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_RS] Lab Exam updates

This is kinda off-topic, but wanted to get some clarification. Last week, I
learned that the OEQ section of the lab was removed. I surfed over to
Cisco's site to see where/when it was taken off and I noticed that there
wasn't any announcement or at least there was no changes listed on Cisco's
site (it's quite possible I overlooked it) .

So my question is how does Cisco decide what to announce and what not to
announce when changes are made to the exam?? This is leading up to to the
question of when 15.0 will be used instead of 12.4?? I would imagine this
sort of change would be announced several months in advance, but I could be
completely wrong. Thoughts anyone??

Regards,
Max

If you have a CCO account you can look at the LAB blueprint which includes
versions and hardware that are used in the Lab.

OEQ was announced by Cisco - It may still be on that page

Thanks for the link Steve, I was looking in the wrong place. As far as my
other question (which what I was mainly asking about), has anyone heard
anything about when IOS 15.0 will be used?? Not that it really matters at
the moment unless they announce it, but how much time does Cisco usually
give a heads up before they change something such as IOS or gear used??

15.0 has some cool features and I would imagine it would add more items to
the blueprint.

PLease check what is name of vlan database file in your flash .
You may issue "dir flash:" to find out the name of vlan database file
and then delete it using "delete flash:<file-name> "

We all knew it will happen someday and apparently, it did!

I found on Cisco Learning Network this morning a post that indicates
that starting January 17th (Monday), switching is part of the
troubleshooting in CCIE R&S lab.

Here is the link: https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/docs/DOC-10859

IPexpert Volume 3 workbook has Layer 2 switching troubleshooting in
many labs already, which probably means we won't be doing any major
rewrites as the result of this announcement.
