hello all,

I am trying to find out what the best practices are for BGP outbound traffic load balancing, for this case lets say it's a single router with multiple ebgp upstreams. the method I have often used is to divide the entire ipv4 address space by the number of upstreams and control outbound traffic with local-pref, by hand. the tunning knob in this method would be the size of each address space partition.

the technique I use is described in detail here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk365/technologies_configuration_example09186a00800945bf.shtml#conf5

I am wondering if there is a better way of doing this using cisco IOS, possibly a dynamic method based on interface loads.

Thank you,
max
