There is a third as well called "Dual-Active Fast Hello Packet"

Check out these documents before making your decision but remember that the
impact on user traffic is more important than how long each method detects the
dual active condition. Also note that NX-OS doesn't support PAgP so you will
need to run LACP on the Nexus 5K.

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_RS] 6504 VSS : Active-Active state Detection - ePagP Vs
BFD.?

Hello,

I am building 6504 VSS Sup 720 for Nexus 5K deployment. One of the key
design consideration to detect active-active state of both chassis.

Per cisco documentation there are two methods:
1. ePAgP
2. BDF

I would like to know your suggestion regarding ePAgP vs BFD which solution can
detect active-active in short period of time.

Please let me know your valuable comments and suggestions.

Many Thanks,
Ramcharan Arya
