I am having a problem with Lab 25. My MSDP peers come up between all the
ASs and I have BGP up via the multicast address family to the other 2
neighbors, but when I try to ping the igmp join groups I am getting
failures. When I check the mroute table, I¹m only seeing (*,225.0.0.55) or
(*,226.0.0.66). When I enable PIM on the loopback interfaces I get a
(200.0.0.6, 226.0.0.66) or something similar and my ping is successful. I¹m
using 2811s for R5, R6, and R9 and 2911¹s for R2 and R4 and 3750 switches.
The final configs for the lab do not have PIM enabled on the loopback
interfaces and I can¹t figure out when it is needed.
