Yes, those answers seem correct. Dampening in the BGP case means you
apply a penalty to a flapping route. When the route stabilises it can
then be inserted into the routing table again.

HI
In my understanding dampending is basically a technique used to manage
flapping routes.
If a bgp route is unstable "flapping" you can configure dampening to take
out the route from the routing table and reinstall it after some time.
It is used in bgp and on interfaces
Thanks.

I agree, Google is our friend "route dampening site:cisco.com", however, I
also believe that teaching someone else something here can further one's
understanding of the technology, as well.
So, keep bringing the questions.

With the command -
*shape* {*average* | *peak*} *percent* *percent* [*bc*] [*be*]
if bc configured = tc, why do they say define bc as ms. why dont we just
use Tc?
When working this out should I work out Tc based on the<=320Kbps tc=Bc/CIR
vs>320Kbps Tc = 25ms?
Thanks

You have the beach about 2 1/2 hours away. In Asheboro you have the zoo
which is a little over an hour away. Then for the RTP area here is a link:

Best of luck to you.
