Always start with the RFC if you need to understand the basics and then move to 
vendor docs. You can also use vendor independent docs as advised by Anthony.

I would recommend vendor independent first. An awesome book by Loshin called 
IPV6 Protocol Theory and Practice (or something like that) :-)

Then - I would go to the IPv6 Doc-CD PDF from the 12.4 mainline.
