There is no "grace" period for CCNP like there is for CCIE. If you did not recertify by your expiration date, your only option to regain the CCNP is to pass all required exams again, just like the first time. In fact, if all of your Cisco certs expired (including CCNA, for example) you'd have to start over there, as a CCNA-level cert is a prerequisite for the CCNP.
As another poster said, you may want to evaluate where you are in your CCIE journey. Frankly, if my CCNP expired right now, I wouldn't bother to re-earn it, I'd just put that energy into finishing my CCIE. CCIE has no pre-requisites.
