Bit of a late reply, but if you have access to Cisco Live 365 (or Cisco Live Online or whatever they're calling it this year) there are several talks from the conference about IOS automation using EEM and other tools. They were presented by Joe Clarke, who is one of Cisco's experts in EEM/Tcl. The slide decks are fairly easy to read over. If there's a recording of one of the talks, that's even better.
