Hello everybody,

I have the next doubt related to Multicast PIM-SM:

* Once the source and destination have been discovered by the RP, the
shared tree must be merged, therefore:

-> Which entry should be installed by the routers in the transit path
(between PIM-DR and RP) in their multicast routing table? (*,G) or (S,G) or
both?

Thanks!!!

I bet this question has been posted many times.
assuming multicast is not blocked and the interface can do mulitcast, ospf
relationship between opsf network p2m and p2m-nb works, i got it labbed up and
I can?t see a problem with it. Is this right? Apart from show run is there
anyway to see that an interface is in p2m-nb; show ip ospf inter tells me that
the interface is Network Type POINT_TO_MULTIPOINT.
Many thanks
Fulvio

(*,g) with reference to the rp. Cisco defaults to (s,g) after learning
source after first packet. This is spt switchover. You can adjust the
number of packets/amount of data before switchover

Oops I was talking about edge router but I believe this should be true for
all routers who have pim joined to receive the mcast traffic
