Ray, Don't give up. Yes, I too question the methodology, the grading, the test, etc. after 2 failures, but in the end it doesn't matter. We have to jump through the hoops they give us. Like Max said, the devil is in the details. You have to do everything the Cisco way and not get fancy. You have to verify each task once you are finished. You need to have full reachability and it needs to remain in place after a full reboot, etc.
To make you feel better: I went to a boot camp last year and one of the guys there had already taken the test 5 times. He finally passed on his 6th attempt. I also know of an SE from Flroida that was a horrible test taker and it took him over 10 attempts. Just keep at it, you will get it. You must solve the tickets conforming to the obstacle course they have constructed. Config section: the devil is in the details. Keep practicing, never give up, never give in. the rewards in terms of a passing ccie lab score is directly proportional to the sacrifice you make and the hours you spend reading/practicing. I would say good luck on your next attempt, but luck has no place in this arena. -Max -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Ray Courtney Sent: Sunday, January 20, 2013 7:42 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [OSL | CCIE_RS] 3 fails and i'm out Hi Everyone, I just got back from another RS lab fail in Brussels this week. I got lower marks in this one than in any of my previous labs despite being certain that I had got 100% in layer 2 and multicast and did pretty well in other sections - I knew I had failed as just before the end I totted up at least 15 marks I had dropped due to some very tricky little bits in IGP and Optimise the network. But my marks came back as terrible. Same with the TS section - I got 8 of the 10 tickets and thought it would be close. But 36% doesn't make sense! I always confirm the ticket by repeating the given command that the objective has been achieved and I know not to just remove config - but these kinds of marks just don't make sense. I am so ready to just give this all up now as I can't say with any confidence that I can ever beat this thing. I know the stuff and can do the work, but I cannot get close to passing this lab. Is this thing doable?
