If you are a strong CCNP then what I have below may not be applicable.

One school of thought is to prepare by studying for the lab exam. This will
introduce you to all of the technologies on the written in an orderly
fashion and keep it interesting, as well.

Another school of thought is to learn the theory first, then do the lab.
Let me know how many times the theory books put you to sleep using this
method.

I suppose a third method would be to study one technology at a time and lab
it up yourself one technology at a time.

Actually its more like10 miles wide and seven feet deep. Enough to drown
you if you let it, hehehe.

My suggestion would be to read through the topics lightly first. See how
much you know and how much is new. Then go back through and slowly read
each topic. Next purchase the videos for the CCIE lab and/or written and
watch them. Do the workbooks that go with the labs. Go back and watch the
videos a second time. Purchase and read more books, things will start to
make sense now. Take the written and put yourself on a schedule to take the
lab. Do not schedule the lab until you can pass a mock lab with flying
colors. Simple. I'm a year into this and can easily see another year before
I make the next lab attempt.

Good luck!
