IOS releases generally follow the major.minor(subrelease)<subtrain><bugfix>
naming convention. So, 12.4(15)T12 and 12.4(15)T14 are pretty much the same
IOS, with bugs fixed. So, yes, that will work for you.

When it comes to SFP modules, buy the cheapest ones. Multimode is usually
less expensive than single mode and will work fine for you, since it's
unlikely that your switches will be more than 10km apart...
