This is a spanning-tree issue. On SW4 vlan 44 is in MST1 and will be blocking fa0/23 for MST1. Since SW2 is the root for MST instances 0 and 1 as per the lab requirement
So a workaround is to map vlan 44 to a new instance (MST2) on all switches. this way only SW4 will have instance MST2 running as its the only switch aware of VLAN44 and will have its fa0/23 in FWD state, This gets SW4 able to communicate with ROUTER R4 Although it breaks earlier requirement which states that all EVEN vlans should be in one instance which is Instance MST1, Any comments??
