You can set to the access vlan - however ATA does also respond to
Dot1Q trunking as well.
So a Auxillary Vlan or Voice Vlan on a 3550 along with a dot1q trunk
manual will work also.

eBay has them literally for $20 or so. Be highly
worth while to pick
one up and connect it back to PL and use it local to
you with an
analog phone - just as you would a hardware phone.
