Hi Friends, I landed in a strange case last evening, during my RACK sessions. I had configured IOS as well as 6k Transcoder and both were registered at CCM. IOS transcoder taking the priority.
HQ being a G711 region and BR1 communicating with it using G729. IPCC ports in HQ region. When i was calling to IPCC AA from HQ phone all was in good shape. Whereas when called from BR1 Phone to IPCC AA i cud see call getting connected on Phone and was not disconnecting till i do it. Also on CCM I could see Transcoder Being Invoked using Perfmon tool but was not able to hear anything. Please help me understand : 1. What issue it could be ? I was using IPBLue Soft pphone for making calls. 2. As per my understanding if it is codec mismatch issue, call should get disconnected say may be within early negotiation sya within approx 30sec at max. 3. Also as for sure IPCC is looking at G711ulaw where as call from BR1 to HQ is G729, but then i observed IOS Transcoder also kicking in as soon as I made call to IPCC AA which should have been doing the necessary transcoding. 4. Calls from BR1 Phones to HQ phones as such dont have any issue and gets connected at G729 as per the config. Please share your expert views, like what could be the cause of this issue.
