Thanks Clif. Let me try , will let you know. Well.. it's not part of any book or guide, just try to test different situation on my own.
Anyway thanks so much for ur help. But that gets them notification....not notification on the primary line. Could you possibly assign 3102 as a secondary DN on line 1? I haven't tried this, but assigning it as a secondary might get you there. You'd have to experiment with it. I'm curious....where did you come up with this? If it's part of a practice lab, is there a solution guide you could check? ----- Original Message ----- From: Kumar, Narinder<mailto:narinder.ku...@uxcg.com.au> To: Wesley Lim<mailto:lim.wes...@gmail.com> ; Cliff McGlamry<mailto:cl...@mcglamry.net> Cc: OSL Group<mailto:ccie_voice@onlinestudylist.com> Sent: Saturday, March 14, 2009 8:22 PM Subject: RE: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] GDM message notification Hi Cliff/Lim, Thanks for ur response. I already did what you guys are suggesting. Ur response confirm that I was on right path. But what if the requirement is to notify all the members of GDM. Example : GDM phone number - 3100 CUE pilot - 3300 MWI on/off - 8000/8001 GDM notification on Ph1 line 2 - 3101 and Ph2 line 2 3102. How can I achieve notification on both Ph1 line 2 and Ph2 line 2. Second scenario. If you want GDM notification on ANY dn - all u need to do is to create a translation profile and tagged it to the dial-p of CUE. For eg, GDM phone number - 3100 CUE pilot - 3300 MWI on/off - 8000/8001 GDM notification on Ph1 line 2 - 3101 voice translation-r 3100 rule 1 /^80003100/ /80003101/ rule 2 /^80013100/ /80013101/ voice translation-r xlate-3100 trans called 3100 dial-p v 3300 voip destination-p 3300$ incoming called-n 800[01].... <- 4 periods sess pro sip ses tar ipv4:123.456.789.012 translation-p in xlate-3100 This would create a translation-r to translate any mwi required for 3100 to 3101 - hence u will get the mwi envelope on the 2nd DN of the phone. Do bear in mind that only mwi light is supported on the primary light of the ephone-dn - not the 2nd. Also I need to show the system msg on the cme phone. 1. I can create GDM ephone-dn and forward all to VM and map the GDM ephone-dn to the CME phones but by doing this I break the requirement of showing the system msg on the phones as it will show 2:Forwarded to 3600 ( VM pilot) Ephone-dn 1 Number 3001 Ephone-dn 2 Number 3100 Call-forward all 3600 Ephone 1 Button 1:1 2:2 With the above config I get the GDM msg notification on ephone 1 but break the requirement of showing the system msg. 2. I can assign the GDM dn to the bacd script under VM . and forward all to VM on the GDM dn. BY doing this I am not breaking the requirement of showing the system msg. But how do I get the GDM message notification. Tried enabling the message notification on CUE but it can only notify one phone. When I listem to the msg it kept on repeting press 1 to disable notification.. Is that normal or I am doing something wrong? Can someone help me , how can I achieve both requirements- System msg on the IP phones and GDM msg notification.
