Some of the labs are now remote; even in places where the equipments are in the same building where you will taking the lab, you are not even allow to touch the equipments, you can see them though; but when it come down to it; all you will have is a mouse, a keyboard and a PC Screen with some shortcuts.
That said, seeing and touching the equipments is not bad at all.
