All presence information is delivered from CUPS to CUPC by Notify message. The source uis CUCM. Let's make sure that the SIP trunk was configured properly ( destination ip and port number), also let's check that the security profile is configured properly, usually the non secure sip trunk profile will work.
Reset the SIP trunk
On cucm service parameters check "publish sip trunk"
Make sure the line appereance is associated to the user

That is the issue when I go to add contacts it does not give me the option to search my users in LDAP and add them to CUPC.

u have to add the contact in cups personal communicator , after the click on general and u will be able to c all the contacts u have added . I hope when u add the user , it is able to pick from AD
