I took the lab yesterday (my first attempt) and just missed it, ran out of
time confirming my configuration and wasn't able to confirm the last
section. I know exactly what I missed on that section as well which was
very basic and if I had about 15-30 more minutes to confirm I would have
gotten it fixed but should've, could've, would've. I now know what areas I
need to speed up to accomplish it so it was a great experience for my second
visit which will be in thirty days in San Jose hopefully doing my victory
dance :-) I wish I could give away details but the whole NDA bummer...

yes , they have other proctors who can fill in for Howard.

Just think about it, if they didn't then none of the proctors around the
world couldn't ever take holidays.

Not sure I guess cisco is looking to replace howard in rtp, i'm sure you'll
be good to go. He said there were exams scheduled after he leaves that were

I'm sure they're going to bring in proctors, I know there are at least a few
in SJ. They're probably just covering the existing lab dates and not
letting anyone schedule new labs until they're back up to staff.

Just a thought.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Howard - I'm sure he's a great
guy... However, I sincerely doubt that Cisco would close CCIE lab for
6 months because one of the proctors was leaving...

Hi Guys,

I have got stuck in the CUPS vol 2 lab 4 - 1.2.
When I login to the CUPC , The dialpad is greyed out also the phone mode has
only disabled option.
I can not see the options for soft phone. I see only disabled option.

I have followed all the steps exactly mentioned in the PG also restarted the
CUPS server, still the same status.

can some one guide me through what is it I could have missed.

Thanks,

Something's to check:

in CUP check Diagnostics>System Dashboard
Look for anything that might be wrong.

in CUPC check Help>Server Health
Helps give you a clue as to what might be wrong.

The CUPC client configured in CUCM is all uppercase 'UPCGWASHINGTON'

Sometimes CUPC takes a moment to "sync" up.

Double check that all the services in CUP are started.

Hi Kavi,

A common cause of this problem is also that the end user is not configured
with a primary extension in the Directory Number Associations section,
