I had a similar question relating to the qos. Below is an example from SRND where the first queue is limited to 1/3 of the available bandwidth and then the Q1 is enabled as priority queue with teh "priority-queue out" command. But IOS reference guide for 3560 says that if we enable "priority-queue out" command then it will override the "srr-queue bandwidth share" and "srr-queue bandwidth shape" commands. Can some one help on this one?
Shaaf CAT2970(config)#interface range GigabitEthernet0/1 - 28 CAT2970(config-if-range)# queue-set 1 ! Assigns interface to Queue-Set 1 (default) CAT2970(config-if-range)# srr-queue bandwidth share 1 70 25 5 ! Q2 gets 70% of remaining BW; Q3 gets 25% and Q4 gets 5% CAT2970(config-if-range)# srr-queue bandwidth shape 3 0 0 0 ! Q1 is limited to 1/3 of the total available BW CAT2970(config-if-range)# priority-queue out ! Q1 is enabled as a PQ ________________________________ From: Otto Sanchez <o...@ipexpert.com> To: Sergio Polizer <spoli...@hotmail.com>; basmj...@msn.com Cc: OSL Group <ccie_voice@onlinestudylist.com> Sent: Mon, January 25, 2010 12:29:25 PM Subject: Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] QoS solutions in PG CCIE Voice v3. Vol. 2 Lab 2 6.3 Hi Bas, Sergio, I agree, although the internal dscp to cos map should be used to deduct the cos value and hence the queue and threshold values through the "mls qos srr-queue output cos-map queue" settings, the SRND states (as Sergio noticed), that "mls qos srr-queue output dscp-map queue" settings will take precedence. I think the only way cos to queue map will take effect is that dscp to queue maps are set to default using the command Sergio references. In consequence, as SRND itself recommends configure both dscp and cos queue maps to keep consistency, I also agree that shaping Q2 to 50% is configured as srr-queue bandwidth shape 10 2 5 5 as these are absolute values (1/2=0.5*100=50%) and not relatives as when calculating shared ratios, BR, On Mon, Jan 25, 2010 at 10:05 AM, Sergio Polizer <spoli...@hotmail.com> wrote: I agree.
