Hi

I am trying to do this:
Phone 1:
Line 1---1001
Line 2---1002

Phone 2:
Line 1---1003
Line 2---1002

Line 1 on both phone 1 and 2 should be able to receive up to 6 incoming calls
but line 2 on phone 1 should be able to receive only 2 calls and line 2 on
phone 2 should be able to receive 5 calls. (line 2 on both phones are shared
lines)

I am able to achieve this via overlay DNs with call waiting but I should be
able to see the call on phone 1 line 2 if phone 2 line 2 answered the call
(remote in use) and be able to barge in.

If I answer call on phone 1 then call is not visible on phone 2 (on line 2 )

>From the admin guide I found out:

ephone 1
button 1c1,2,3,4
!
ephone 2
button 1c1,2,3,4
1. A call to ephone-dn 1 rings on ephone 1 and on ephone 2. Ephone 1 answers,
and the call is no longer
visible to ephone 2.
2. A call to ephone-dn 2 issues a call-waiting notification to ephone 1 and
rings on ephone 2, which
answers. The second call is no longer visible to ephone 1.
3. A call to ephone-dn 3 issues a call-waiting notification to ephone 1 and
ephone 2. Ephone 1 puts the
call to ephone-dn 1 on hold and answers the call to ephone-dn 3. The call to
ephone-dn 3 is no longer
visible to ephone 2.

Is there any other way to restrict number of calls on shared lines and still be
able to see the calls on other phones and barge in.

Thanks
Aman

Hi Iwan,

I experienced this before, and applied the same troubleshooting you
mentioned, but it was to long to restore the cue functioning. A way I found
to get the module back up quickly, was to going to srst mode by shutting
down the serial interface between br2 and hq, so, restoring the connection
between sites solved my cue issue. I think however, that other ways to get
into srst mode would help like setting ucm servers route from br2 to a null
interface.

Before I encountered the problem, I used to get into srst mode by
subscribing br2 devices to a single server ucm group/ device pool and
shutting down the call manager service for the corresponding server,

ahh..yes very good point... I have been moving away from the "new school"
routing methods lately because of some of the flexibility issues I have ran
into while using it.

For instance ANI manipulation based on the type of call.

I do prefer sticking to the "old school" routing method if possible, but I
will play around with the called party transformations on the gateway.

Thanks Randall !!

Guys,

I havent run into such specific problems, but the other day I ran into this
document which is related. From it, it seems doing the reload is needed on
most occasions, but should try Ottos suggestion first as it would be faster.
It mentions a bug but I am still confused on the cause of the failure.
