Hi,

I'm working on a lab, where I'm supposed to configure SIP trunk between HQ
CUCM and BR CUCME.

I created a SIP trunk on CUCM side with folowing CUCM group associated.
 1) subscriber CUCM
 2) publisher CUCM

On CUCME side I've configured to dial-peers pointing to sub with preference
0 and to pub with preference 1. Additionally, I tuned the SIP timers to
cover failover:
sip-ua
 retry invite 3
 timers trying 100

Then, I wanted to check if the failover works fine. This is what I get when
I configure BR CUCME with null route to CUCM subscriber:
1) When I make a call from BR CUCME to CUCM, primary CUCM doesn't respond,
CUCME fails over to backup dial-peer and everything works like a charm.
2) but when I make a call from CUCM to CUCME with this null route
configured, the call never completes. It seems that primary CUCM (sub)
doesn't receive anything from CUCME (because of the null route) and gives up
instead of try initiating the call from publisher, which would work fine.

Is it expected behaviour? I can imagine such scenario in real life, where
primary CUCM can't reach the destination, but subscriber can (physical
redunancy, CUCM in different locations/subnets)...

Any ideas? Is there any workaround / working config for such scenario?

best regards
kobel
