this issue is fixed in the 1.4.4 RC1,
you can set extra options on the project to handle the sourcecontrol error
handling
http://confluence.public.thoughtworks.org/display/CCNET/Project+Configuration+Block

options :
 maxSourceControlRetries
stopProjectOnReachingMaxSourceControlRetries
sourceControlErrorHandling

I'm planning on releasing 1.4.4 RC1 tomorrow.
