No log errors... turned out to be a *user *error (though in my defense I tried to find documentation on using CC but have yet to turn up much). I found one reference to starting an individual project integrator via the Start button on the web status page. Once I did that, the scheduleTrigger began working.
( So a classic case of "If it does not work, try plugging it in :-).
