° do you specify machine name or ip adres for that (big) CCNet ?
      IP should bypass all dns systems, or adjust the hosts file of the
virutal pc
      just to make sure CCNet is connecting to the server we think it's
connecting to,
      and not another one. (maybe a ip's are also changed with that dns
change)

° verify the name
     there is a difference between the dns name of a server, and it's real
name
     netbios names and stuff like that

° can you do a continuous ping without interruptions?
    ping -t -l 50000 theserver

° if you do telnet to the big CCNet server on the 443 port, do you get an
immediate connection?
    or do you see a delay?
