On the occasion of the inauguration of the EMBL Hamburg high-through- put crystallization facility and the completion of the new macro- molecular crystallography MAD beamline X12, the EMBL Hamburg Outstation is organizing and hosting a one-day workshop on macromolecular crystallization. This workshop will present an overview on current crystallization methodologies and theory as well as an outline on the latest develop- ments in this area. Invited speakers include N. Chayen, J. Marquez, A. McPherson, A. Perrakis, J Garcia Ruiz and B. Rupp. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to learn about high throughput crystallization first hand. The Hamburg facility will become accessible to the general user community in early 2006. Participants are therefore encouraged to bring their own samples for crystallization to the workshop. The workshop will be held on Nov 17th at the EMBL Hamburg Outstation in Hamburg, Germany.
