Trainee Position in Protein Crystallisation at Novartis (Basel, Switzerland) The protein X-ray group of the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research NIBR (Basel, Switzerland), is looking for a student to work in the area of crystallisation of proteins relevant to drug design projects. The candidate would be part of a group that utilises all the tools required for structural biology; from molecular biology through to NMR spectroscopy and protein crystallography. The work would involve characterisation of target proteins via HPLC, ITC, DLS and gel electrophoresis, design and setup of crystallization trials with and without robotics, and preliminary testing of crystal quality via x-ray diffraction. Training in these methods will be provided on site. Candidates who would be ready to start preferably in Mar.2006 (or possibly a bit later) and are available for a period of at least 6 months, preferably 9-12 months, are asked to contact Joerg Kallen at the address below. Please provide a short CV including a description of previous work experience. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dr. Joerg Kallen Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research NIBR, Basel Research Investigator II, Protein X-ray DT/PSU Novartis Pharma AG WSJ 88-9-08b Postfach CH-4002 Basel SWITZERLAND Phone: +41-61-324 55 79 Fax: +41-61-324 26 86 Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --=_alternative 003637B1C12570C4_= Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii"
Trainee Position in Protein Crystallisation at Novartis (Basel, Switzerland)

The protein X-ray group of the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research NIBR (Basel, Switzerland),
is looking for a student to work in the area of crystallisation of proteins relevant to drug design projects.
The candidate would be part of a group that utilises all the tools required for structural biology; from molecular
biology through to NMR spectroscopy and protein crystallography.
