Dear CCP4ers, completely off topic (with respect to ccp4) ... I have been wondering for a while, whether it would not be possible to motivate someone to create and possibly manage a ´Robotics in Protein Crystallography´ mailing list/bulletin board (possibly to be preferred over a newsgroup). Wouldn´t it be nice, if there were a forum, where scientists and technicians could exchange (against all interest of the manufacturers, i am afraid) their experiences with liquid handlers, nanoliter dispensers and visualization robots ? Where they could exchange scripts, parameters ... I have a certain feeling, there are a lot of robots, that work wonderfully (really !!!), some others work great, if you know a few tricks (an exchange would possibly get novice users get started quicker), certain manufacturers have already gone under, and others are not really quite ready yet (although they claim so and think they can charge you accordingly ...).
