Postdoctoral position: Crystallography & biophysics of platelet receptors

An AHA-funded postdoctoral position is available for a highly motivated
individual with expertise in crystallography and biophysics. The project is
focused on the structure and function of platelet receptors, with particular
interest in the interaction between glycoprotein VI (GPVI) and various
ligands. The ideal applicant would have experience with cloning and protein
purification, protein crystallography, and biophysical techniques such as
surface plasmon resonance, isothermal titration calorimetry, or analytical
ultracentrifugation. Fluency in both spoken and written English is
essential.

The Herr laboratory (http://homepages.uc.edu/~herrab/
<http://homepages.uc.edu/~herrab/> ) is well equipped for x-ray
crystallography, analytical ultracentrifugation, dynamic light scattering,
and isothermal titration calorimetry, with access to additional biophysical
instrumentation. The University of Cincinnati is the 2nd largest state
university in Ohio, and the College of Medicine is ranked in the top tier of
research-oriented US medical schools. Cincinnati is a beautiful city with a
low cost of living and numerous cultural attractions that recently has been
rated by Fortune magazine as one of the top 10 US cities in which to live
and work.
