Post-doctoral position in structural virology in Grenoble, France

A EU-funded (network SPINE2-Complexes) post-doctoral position for at least 2 years is available in a small group working on the structural biology of Epstein-Barr virus proteins and their interactions with host cell proteins. The group is part of the Institute of Host-Virus Interactions, a newly formed joined laboratory between the EMBL Grenoble outstation, CNRS and the University Joseph Fourier.

The scope of the project is the study of interactions between the LMP-1 protein of EBV and cellular partner proteins by biochemical and biophysical techniques and in particular X-ray crystallography.

Experience in some of the following fields is required: _expression_ of recombinant proteins (baculovirus, E. coli), protein purification, protein crystallography.

Working languages are French and English. The work is facilitated by easy access to the ESRF synchrotron and common facilities for crystallization and protein characterization. Grenoble is a mid-size town with an international atmosphere located in the French Alps.

The deadline for an application is end of January 2007 and the position can start as soon as possible. Please contact:
