Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and motivated postdoctoral
research scientist to join Dr. Erika Mancini’s group at the Division of
Structural Biology, Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics (University of
Oxford). The project, which has been recently funded by the Medical Research
Council, focuses on the structural and functional characterisation of mammalian
chromatin remodelling ATPases. This position is available for 3 years.

You will have, or expect to soon complete, a Ph.D in Biochemistry or equivalent
subject and a strong background in protein and multi-protein complex expression
and purification, with a particular interest in the biochemistry of DNA
interacting proteins. Experience with mammalian chromatin remodelling proteins
and complexes is highly desirable but not necessary. Some experience in
structural biology techniques, such as x-ray crystallography or electron
microscopy would also be advantageous but not required as training will be
provided.

The Division of Structural Biology at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human
Genetics is equipped with state-of-the-art protein expression and purification
apparatus, including high-throughput facilities. The crystallographic equipment
includes nano-drop crystallization robots, storage and visualization robots,
rotating anode generators with image plate detectors, automated sample
exchanger and free mounting system, and cutting-edge computational facilities.
The Centre is located in the stimulating scientific and cultural environment of
Oxford.
