An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is immediately available for a highly motivated individual with a strong interest in structure and function of macromolecular complexes in the laboratory of Dr. Liang Tang at the Department of Molecular Biosciences, University of Kansas (http://www.molecularbiosciences.ku.edu/faculty/tang.html). The projects include structural studies on protein complexes in the Type III secretion system and signal transduction in pathogenic bacteria by means of X-ray crystallography and electron cryo-microscopy. The laboratory has easy access to a Rigaku RU-H3RHB X-ray generator with an R-axis IV++ imaging plate system and a 200kV FEI transmission electron microscope equipped with field emission gun both located in campus, and has regular access to synchrotron radiation beamlines.
