position in protein crystallization at Roche Nutley, NJ to your

Job description & responsibilities:

The candidate's main responsibility will be the design and execution of
protein crystallization experiments. This includes preparation and
scoring of crystallization drops, crystal optimization, ligand soaking
and crystal freezing. The candidate will also share the task of
maintaining and optimizing automated hardware systems, including robotic
liquid handlers and crystal imaging systems. The candidate will work
closely with colleagues from protein production and protein
crystallography, and will report progress in group meetings and written
reports.

 

Required Educational Background:

The ideal candidate will have a BS or MA in Biochemistry, Biophysics,
Bioengineering or related discipline, and at least one year of
experience in protein purification, characterization and/or
crystallization. Prior exposure to automated liquid handling,
high-throughput assay systems, programming and/or databases will be
considered a plus.
