A Postdoctoral position is available immediately in the group of Dr. Svetla Stoilova-McPhie (University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston) to study the structure and active conformations of membrane and membrane-associated proteins: http://www.utmb.edu/ncb/faculty/Stoilova-McPhieSvetla.asp. Highly motivated recently graduated candidates with expertise in macromolecular structure analysis, molecular modeling and biophysics are encouraged to apply. Experience with Linux computing systems and programming will be an advantage. The ideal candidate will carry out structure analysis from Cryo-EM data to be further combined with X-ray crystallography and solution biophysics data. Previous experience is desirable; however training will be given for the specifics of structure determination by Cryo-EM. The Sealy Center for Structural Biology and Molecular Biophysics at UTMB, as well as the PI’s lab are fully equipped for structure determination of macromolecular complexes: http://www.scsb.utmb.edu/<http://www.scsb.utmb.edu/symposium/index.htm> . UTMB is part of the Gulf Coast Consortium: http://cohesion.rice.edu/centersandinst/gcc/ and the Texas Medical Center, which houses the NIH funded National center for Macromolecular Imaging. The position is available for up to two years at the first instance and the salary is commensurate with the NIH postdoctoral salary guidance. UTMB is an equal opportunity employer. Interested candidates should send a CV including areas of expertise and interest, list of publications and names and contact information for 3 references to svmcp...@utmb.edu.
