Hello, and sincere apologies for the spam in case this posting is not
relevant to you!

A full-time position until May 2014 (funds for an extension until May 2015
are already in place) is available at the Institute of Immunology &
Infection Research, University of Edinburgh
(http://schnauferlab.bio.ed.ac.uk/).

We are seeking an independent and highly motivated postdoctoral researcher
to be part of an international collaboration. The goal of this Wellcome
Trust-funded multidisciplinary project is to exploit the unique RNA editing
process in trypanosomatid parasites as a target for the identification of
much-needed new drugs. The project will involve the identification of drug
candidates using state-of-the-art in silico and biochemical high throughput
methods and the testing of such molecules in vitro and in vivo. A solid
background in protein biochemistry and experience with advanced techniques
in molecular biology as well as organisational skills are essential.
Experience with drug discovery, X-ray crystallography, enzymology or cell
culture techniques would be a plus. Although experience in molecular
modelling is not required, a keen interest in drug discovery and in working
at the interface of computational biology and molecular parasitology is
expected Candidates should have, or will shortly obtain a PhD.
