We are looking for a Technician Protein Crystallization Facility and Crystallography Beamlines Your tasks You will be responsible for helping with the everyday operation and maintenance of the crystallization and liquid handling robots within the macromolecular crystallography group at the Swiss Light Source (SLS). You will also be involved with the general crystallization lab organization and operation. After an extensive training period, you will participate in in situ X-ray diffraction screening experiments as well as in the development of new technologies in protein crystallization. In addition, you will assist daily user operation of the three protein crystallography beamlines at the SLS. Tasks include general beamline maintenance, as well as support for user operation, sample changer and remote operation. In collaboration with the Laboratory of Biomolecular Research at PSI you will further be involved in basic protein biochemistry work. Your profile You have an apprenticeship as a technician or a bachelor degree from a technical school or university in protein biochemistry or a closely related field. Experience in protein crystallization is an asset. We are looking for a motivated person that enjoys working in an interdisciplinary, multinational research environment, in a team of engineers and scientists. The ability to work, interact and communicate with your team members and users of the crystallization facility and beamlines is a must. A good command in German and English is mandatory.
