DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop new methods and protocols for structural modeling and dynamics Develop features/tools assisting clinical and genetic analysis on in house analysis platform Lead bioinformatics, R&D and reporting team for clinical research projects Setup the training plan for new hires and other teams Manage a team of scientists and programmers EDUCATION: PhD degree in computational biology, structural biology, biophysics, bioinformatics Familiar with molecular biology, biological pathways, and genomics Strong knowledge of current theories and principals of computational structural biology TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: Proficiency in the use of bioinformatics software, packages, and database Proficiency with Perl, Python, R, bash, C/C++, java, and SQL in Linux/Unix environment Proficiency in utilizing and development bio-molecular modeling and dynamics tools Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work within a team, among cross-departments, and as an independent contributor, requiring minimal supervision EXPERIENCE: At least 5 years research experience in the related fields At least 2 years post-doctoral research experience and/or industrial experiences in computational biology are required At least 3 years experience as a manager or lead of scientists and/or programmers industrial setting Experiences in using high performance computing and storage systems Structural Biologist II Department: Bioinformatics Location: Aliso Viejo , CA JOB TITLE: Structural Biologist II DEPARTMENT: Bioinformatics and Computational Biology REPORTS TO TITLE: Structural Biologist III JOB OVERVIEW: The job's main responsibility is to collaborate with biologists, bioinformaticians, and clinicians to design and perform structural analyses.
