A post-doctoral position is immediately available for highly motivated, hard-working candidates to join Dr. Jikui Song’s group in the Department of Biochemistry at University of California, Riverside. Dr. Song’s research group employs collaborative and multidisciplinary approaches to investigate mechanistic basis of cancer epigenetics, in particular chromatin modifications that are essential for gene regulation and cell development. The project will involve structural and dynamic characterization of macromolecular complexes involved in epigenetic programming, using combined biochemical approaches, including X-ray crystallography, Cryo-electron microscopy, Single-molecule FRET and NMR spectroscopy. Applicants should hold a recent PhD degree and have significant experience in molecular cloning, protein production and protein biochemistry. Additional background in X-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy or enzymatic assay is considered a plus but not essential. Interested applicants should send curriculum vitae and contact information of 2-3 references to Jikui Song, Ph.D. Department of Biochemistry, University of California, Riverside, CA 92521 (Email: jikui.s...@ucr.edu).
As one of the prestigious public universities in US, UC Riverside is located at the sunny southern California, near to big cities such as Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas. Such an environment allows one to have a good balance of life and science here. More information can be found in http://biochemistry.ucr.edu/faculty/song/song.html.
