The Philips Laboratory in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Washington
University in St. Louis, MO is recruiting a postdoctoral research associate to
participate in NIH-funded projects. We are looking for a highly motivated
postdoctoral associate to study host-pathogen interactions governing immune
control of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (http://www.jenphilipslab.com/).

In particular, we are looking for candidates with prior training in protein
biochemistry or structural biology to apply their training to study bacterial
effectors. In collaboration with Dr. Thomas Brett’s laboratory, the candidate
will crystalize an M. tuberculosis effector that is essential for innate immune
evasion. The project will involve establishing assays to demonstrate the
biochemical activity of the effector and screening for small molecule
inhibitors.

Applicants should have a strong interest in tuberculosis, microbial
pathogenesis, and innate immunity, but need not have worked in these areas
previously. A CV and research statement should be sent to Jennifer A. Philips
at philips....@wustl.edu<mailto:philips....@wustl.edu>.
