The Jian Jin lab (http://labs.icahn.mssm.edu/jinlab/<http://labs.icahn.mssm.edu/jinlab>) specializes in Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology & Drug Discovery. We have an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Associate in the biochemistry part of the lab, which is integrated with the medicinal chemistry part of the lab, to discover novel therapeutics. We invite highly skilled and motivated biochemists who are interested in expanding or deepening their skills including small-molecule drug discovery and chemical biology to apply for this position. The postdoctoral fellow / research associate will work on cutting-edge drug discovery and/or chemical biology projects. The primary responsibilities of postdoctoral fellow / research associate include: (1) protein expression and purification, (2) developing biochemical/biophysical assays, and (3) testing compounds in these assays. The fellow will become a member of multidisciplinary teams in an environment where his/her knowledge and skills of biochemistry will play a critical role in advancing the drug discovery and/or chemical biology projects. Educational Requirements: A Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, biophysics, structural biology or a related area. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified applicants must have extensive experience in protein expression and purification. Candidates should possess excellent laboratory and communication skills and demonstrate a strong level of independence, self-motivation, and work ethic.
