Dear CCP4bb,

The Course and Conference Office of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory
is organising a workshop called "EMBL Industry Workshop: Cryo-EM in Industry
and Academia.” The scientific organisers asked me to contact you asking for
your help to post this event. You can find the details below.

Title: EMBL Industry Workshop: Cryo-EM in Industry and Academia

Location & Dates: EMBL Heidelberg, Germany | 6 - 8 Feb 2019

Website: https://www.embl.de/training/events/2019/CPP19-01/
<https://www.embl.de/training/events/2019/CPP19-01/>

Conference Overview:
Recent technical developments in cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and
cryo-tomography now allow structures of challenging targets relevant for the
pharmaceutical industry (membrane proteins, multi-subunit complexes, chromatin
complexes etc.) to be determined at unprecedented resolution. This workshop is
aimed at members of the pharmaceutical and allied industrial sectors that use
(or are considering using) cryo-EM in drug discovery and agricultural research,
academic researchers interested in the impact of state-of-the-art cryo-EM in
drug discovery, and cryo-EM support staff that want to learn more about the
specific needs of industry.
Structural biologists from leading pharmaceutical companies and academia have
joined forces to co-organise a science-driven meeting to exchange trends,
ideas, use-cases, opportunities and challenges related to the use of cryo-EM in
industry and academia.

Thank you in advance for your support. If you have any questions, do not
hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes,
Carolina
