Dear all, A postdoctoral fellowship is available in my group at Umeå University, Sweden (https://www.biostruct.umu.se/principal-investigators/ronnie-berntsson/). Our lab studies bacterial conjugation via Type 4 Secretion Systems, with a special focus on gram-positive bacteria. The open position revolves around understanding the structure and function of the adhesion proteins that facilitate the cellular mating pair formation.
Our lab is part of the Integrated Structural Biology at Umeå University and is fully equipped for biochemistry and structural biology, with on site access to local facilities in x-ray crystallography (mosquito, RockImager, formulator etc), electron microscopy (Titan Krios, Talos 120 kV, Scios Dual beam for FIB-Milling). We would like to recruit a postdoc with prior experience in protein expression/purification, biochemistry and structure determination.
