We are opening one postdoctoral position at the Brazilian Biosciences National Laboratory - LNBio (http://lnbio.cnpem.br/) in Campinas – Sao Paulo in Dr. Andrea Dessen’s group. The position involves: (1) fractionation and purification of bacterial secondary metabolites, as well as (2) testing for molecule recognition of bacterial cell wall synthesis proteins via crystallography. This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. Candidates should have a recent PhD degree (obtained less than seven years ago) in Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Chemistry or related disciplines and have published at least one research article in an international peer-reviewed journal as first author. Candidates should also have practical knowledge in biochemistry and protein structure determination. Demonstrated expertise in one of the following areas would be advantageous: natural product purification and chromatographical analysis methods, and protein expression and purification. The short-listed candidates will be contacted and interviewed in early October. The successful candidate will begin in early 2020. This 2-year contract is associated to a Grant awarded from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) through its São Paulo Excellence Chair (SPEC) program.
