Applicants should demonstrate the potential to develop an independent, interdisciplinary research program in the design of variants of naturally occurring macromolecules with enhanced stability and/or modified selectivity and affinity toward natural receptors, as well as the de novo design of new functional scaffolds. These efforts are supported by outstanding resources for high-throughput protein production and structure determination.
