This is mainly a list for pre-PC era kit. Windows PCs and 64-bit x86 kit are offtopic here, and most members, I suspect, regard them as disposable office equipment with no more personality than a stapler. The Vostro 1700 looks to be a 2007 era 17" C2D laptop. Not much info to go on in your message. You say it boots; how do you know? What OS? Latest firmware? Can you SSH to it when the OS comes up? Can it successfully drive an external screen?
