To my knowledge support for the MicroVAX 3100 started with VMS V5.2 or 5.2-1. Sometimes there was a kind of preliminary support in earlier versions, but the MicroVAX 3100 is definitively not listed in the VMS V5.1 Software Product Description. Unfortunately I do not own an SPD for VMS V5.2 or VMS V5.2-1, which could give the confirmation of official support. Maybe there's info somewhere inther DEC manuals, too.
