With a little more thought overnight it makes more sense. I suspect you
are using the extended option board with the KK8E. That board has the power
fail logic. Check the AC Low signal on the backplane (BB1 of slots 2 & 3).
The M8317 needs to be in slot 2 or 3. I didn't see a switch to disable
the interrupt.
