CDK 1.2.0 will not feature a JChemPaint, unfortunately, unless someone jumps in with considerable effort. The code in CDK trunk and the 1.2.x branch should not be considered to replace JCP; it does not. JChemPaint will remain based on CDK 1.0.x until a new version has been written. Development for that is ongoing but currently still slow. However, I expect things to speed up, now that I'll be able to spend time on it in Uppsala as of October, Arvid (also in Uppsala) and Stefan, possibly Gilleain (at the EBI) have resources to contribute to the rewrite. Bioclipse is doing a CDK-split right now, using CDK trunk for all the chemoinformatics, but using CDK 1.0.x for the editing functionality. Not optimal, but half a year a go the only reasonable solution. Concluding, I hope to see a better JCP soon, with all the functionality JCP 2.3.x has, but based on CDK 1.2.x.
