Of course you can and what you are doing is great. You don't need to be
a distributor to install OpenOffice.org for you
customers/friends/relatives though. It's free software, so you are
allowed to do that anyway. A distributor is somebody who proposes to
send out a CD to people who cannot download it themselves for a small
fee. (I ask 10 euros, it won't make me rich, but it's a way to help
people out and to get OOo more widely distributed)
