I am very sorry about the problems with the CDs. I assure you that the next time I volunteer service, I will handle it myself.

Not your fault. BTW, I have learned to read the fine print very closely. LWE uses GES for handling shipments and other infrastructure stuff at the conference. LWE suggests we use their warehouse for deliveries, and thus GES, or so I learned. And GES charges--get this--about 40 USD for *any* shipment, including, in my case, a slender envelope, and two single books.

:-(

All of which reminds me of what I had already known... that the world for these events is really constructed around big corporate spenders, for whom a 40 USD outlay is meaningless and what counts is ensuring it gets there and is safe.

Thanks, James!

Thanks to you and Kyle, OOo at LWE Boston will be very worthwhile.
I'll send a summary after the event....

Cheers,

Louis

Hi
Kyle just gave me bad news: the cds he had sent over were inexplicably rejected by LWE, which starts Tuesday.

So, I need CDROMs of 2.0.2. Urgently.

If you can help out, please do. Your company will naturally be credited, your help acknowledged.

I can give you the address to send them to privately.

Thanks!
Louis
Louis,

As discussed in our emails off-list, we have been unable to send you any CDs for this event :-(

I hope that a distributor more local to the event has been able to supply some discs.

To show our support I've arranged for an extra donation today, which I hope will help with "LinuxWorld Conference & Expo Boston".

Have a good time :)

Regards,
James
